Victorian Government Mandated Face Coverings and Masks
Last update: 22 July 2020, 5PM AEST
People living in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will now be required to wear a face covering when leaving home for one of the four reasons detailed below, following a concerning increase in coronavirus cases in recent days –
- Shopping for food or other essential items
- To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
- For exercise (applies to outdoor exercise, and with only one other person or member of your household)
- Work or study, if you cannot work or study from home.
To give people time to purchase or make a face covering, this new rule won’t be enforced until after 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July 2020.
