These sessions are designed to help you gain practical knowledge on working effectively with interpreters and translators to ensure clear and inclusive communication with families and students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Elvira Bianchi

Elvira was born in Switzerland in 1994, where she also lived and studied until graduating from her bachelor’s degree of Applied Languages at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in 2018. In 2020 she began her master’s degree of Translation and Interpreting at RMIT in Melbourne, where she stayed upon completion of the degree, as a PhD candidate. Her PhD research investigates the communication between schools and non-English-speaking families. 

Elvira is a NAATI certified Interpreter and Translator practising in both Switzerland and Australia. She is also a committee member of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators.
